M S P S L

Traffic calming measures are roads that have been deliberately designed to slow traffic down.  This could be:

On roads with humps, narrowings or mini-roundabouts, you will see signs to warn you and let you know which side of the road the narrowing occurs. This will inform you about priority. You should approach with caution! Never speed up as you approach the traffic calming measure.

Be prepared to slow down or stop if necessary. Don’t try and squeeze through at the same time as cyclists or motorcyclists. Hold back and allow them room to pass. You should maintain a reduced speed along the whole stretch of road within the traffic calming measures.

Do not overtake other moving road users while in these areas.

You should not accelerate as you approach the narrowing, but be prepared to slow down or give way to approaching traffic Hold back to allow cyclists motorcyclist room to pass through and don’t try to squeeze through at the same time!

Note: You will be taking your quiz next, make sure to get the passing score in order for the quiz to be marked as completed.
