Theory extension?
Posted by Caity on 22/03/2021 at 11:29 amMy driving test has been moved 4 times now and it’s now booked for May. My theory runs out in June, so what will happen if my test is moved again. I won’t have to do my theory again will I? don’t want to go all through that again… it was bad enough the first time!!

Unfortunately, the government has ruled not to allow extensions to the theory test, so if your test was postponed, then you would have to retake your theory if you couldn’t get a date before your theory runs out. A lot of people have said this is unfair. The government’s position is that your knowledge needs to be current and up to date, hence the fact that you have to redo your theory.
I’m the same as you, worried that I won’t get a test before my theory runs out! My instructor says I need to keep myself up to date with the info in case that happens, so I keep doing the questions on the app just in case
I’m in the same boat as you! I’ve passed both my motorcycle and car theory tests, but will have to do my theory test again as I can’t get a driving test before it runs out. I can understand that your knowledge needs to be current…. but I think that they should let you retake it for free!
My son done his theory but dye to covid he couldn’t get a test date . His theory ran out not his fault but has now got to resit the theory b4 doing his driving test.
