Question 10

Question 10
Tell me how you’d switch on the rear fog light and explain when you’d use it. You don’t need to exit the vehicle.

Answer 10
Turn the car ignition on.

Turn on the dipped headlights and turn the fog light switch.

Explain that you would use the fog lights when visibility is reduced to 100 metres or less.

Extra 10
Fog lights are very bright lights that are designed to cut through thick fog. To turn them on you need to put your dipped headlights on first, then turn the fog light switch in your car. You will know they are on because the warning light will illuminate on your dashboard.

You should only turn fog lights on when the fog is so thick that you can’t see any more than 100 metres away. When the fog is not so thick, and visibility improves you should turn them off again.
