Independent Driving Following The Sat Nav
Independent driving (Sat Nav)
Independent driving involves you as a driving either following the signs for a place or following the directions given by a Sat Nav. On your part 2 test of driving ability you will be asked to do this for 20 minutes. 4 out of 5 candidates are asked to follow a Sat Nav while the other 1 in 5 is asked to follow a series for road signs. The Sat Nav is supplied for the test by your examiner.
Following the Sat Nav.
You will be asked to park; the examiner will explain they want you to follow directions given by the Sat Nav for the next 20 minutes. Listen carefully to the directions given by the Sat Nav and glance at the screen if you need to in order to confirm where you are being asked to go. As with following the signs, you can ask the examiner to confirm the direction you need to take without this affecting the outcome of your test.
