Independent Driving (Following the Signs)
Independent driving (Signs)
Independent driving involves you as a driving either following the signs for a place or following the directions given by a Sat Nav. On your part 2 test of driving ability you will be asked to do this for 20 minutes. 4 out of 5 candidates are asked to follow a Sat Nav while the other 1 in 5 is asked to follow a series for road signs. The Sat Nav is supplied for the test by your examiner.
Following Road Signs.
You will be asked to park; the examiner will explain they want you to follow direction signs for the next 20 minutes or so. The places on the signs may change during the route but the examiner will inform you of this in plenty of time. For example, you may be asked to follow the signs for Oxford initially and then after three junctions asked to follow the signs for Banbury. If you go wrong or need to ask if your going the correct way you can. The examiner will confirm where you need to go, this will not affect the outcome of the test.
