The cockpit drill:

Before driving the driver must always go through their cockpit drill. This is to make sure everything within the vehicle is correctly adjusted and comfortable for the driver to drive safely.

The cockpit drill consists of the following:

  • Check all doors are shut
  • Adjust the driver’s seat to the correct position including head restraint (Check Passengers)
  • Adjust the steering wheel to the correct position
  • Adjust all mirrors to the correct position
  • Put the seatbelt on (Check passengers)
  • Check there is enough fuel for the journey
