How to Adjust Your Mirrors to Give You the Best View

Adjusting your mirrors:

Always adjust your mirrors when the car is stationary. Make sure your seat is positioned correctly and you are in your normal driving position, you do not want to move your head every time you check your mirrors.

With your fingers on the rim of the interior mirror so as not to smudge it, move it so you can see the whole of the rear window. If this is not possible then line the top of the mirror with the top of the window. A picture of this can be found in ‘Driving the Essential Skills’

The exterior mirrors should be adjusted to give you the best possible view with only a small part of the car visible on the side of the mirror. A picture of this can be found in ‘Driving the Essential Skills’
