Priorities at Junctions

Types of junctions:

A junction is where one road meets another. Junctions can be marked or unmarked.

The different types of junctions are – T-junctions, Y-Junctions, Crossroads, Staggered junctions and Roundabouts.

Priorities:

You may be approaching a junction from minor to major roads in which case the major road will have priority. It may also be roads of equal priority. Plan well ahead looking at road layout, road markings and signs to establish who if anyone has priority. Remember pedestrians already crossing the road have priority.

Stop Sign – You must always stop.

Give Way Sign – You must be prepared to stop.

Unmarked Junction – Nobody has priority.
