How to Choose a Driving Instructor and What Makes a Good One

When choosing an instructor, a learner should ask friends and family and go for an instructor:

1. With a good reputation.

2. Is reliable.

3. Is punctual.

4. Has a car that is suited to the learner and the task.

If there is no opportunity to find a driving instructor through family or friends then research online with special attention paid to pupil reviews will be required.

The qualities needed to be a good driving instructor are the similar to those of a good driver. They must also be able to relate and respond to the needs and actions of the learner.

The instructor must not only have a thorough working knowledge of the rules, techniques and procedures but be able to communicate these in a sympathetic manner that suits the learners needs.
